GET INVOLVED IN 2007
Operation Santa Paws for Abused and Abandoned Dogs & Cats
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED for the holiday toy/treat/supplies collection drive for shelter/rescue dogs and cats. If you, your company or your organization would like to become a part of Operation Santa Paws, please contact the organizer at JustinRudd@yahoo.com, and he can e-mail you a pdf file for the poster (or click the logo at left to download a poster) that you can print and place on a cardboard box(es) or large plastic tub for a drop box that you can place in your office, at a pet store, veterinarian office, church, school, etc. Be sure to include the exact business name, address, and phone of where your box(es) will be so we can list it below.
Then invite your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to put new toys and bags of treats in the box. You can also contact your local newspapers and other media outlets and let them know what you are doing and ask them to help you get the word out.
And, when you are finished collecting goods at your location at noon on Dec. 21 or whatever date you choose, you can deliver your collected items to your favorite shelter or drop the goods at one of our major drop-off locations (in the Los Angeles/Orange County area) listed below where we'll pick it up and deliver to various local shelters and rescues on the morning of Dec. 22.
DURING THE 2007 HOLIDAY season extra help is needed for the thousands of abused and abandoned animals in the care of local animal shelters and rescues all over the world. One local grassroots organization from Long Beach, Calif., "Operation Santa Paws," is helping by spearheading a canine/feline toy/treat drive to benefit less-fortunate pets this season. Justin Rudd, organizer of this annual holiday effort that started in 2001, is encouraging animal lovers to purchase a new dog or cat toy, treat or supply to drop-off/donate at one of the locations listed below that will be delivered in time for Christmas to shelters and rescues.
OPERATION SANTA PAWS will be the cat's meow for shelter pets this holiday season, when a brigade of volunteers deliver toys and treats to thousands of animals in shelters all over North America. Can you help out? Contact JustinRudd@yahoo.com.
OPERATION SANTA PAWS seeks donated pet toys for shelters and rescues to improve the health and demeanor of those pets while reducing their stress to increase the animals' chances of being adopted. The simplest toys can make the animals much more comfortable. Cats enjoy rolling toys, such as small plastic balls or other "batting" toys that can be hung from cage doors, while dogs tend to prefer items like the heavy-duty Kong rubber chew toy.
Operation Santa Paws 2007 Needs Delivery Help
HELP US PASS OUT TOYS & treats in Long Beach and Orange County. Simply arrive a few minutes early to meet Santa Paws (aka Justin Rudd) in the parking lot, and be sure to bring some nice toys, treats and shelter cleaning supplies with you to donate!
